“Clayton Kids for Cash” Scheme: A Deep Corruption Exposé
In an explosive federal filing, Missouri attorney Matt Grant has pulled back the curtain on what he calls the “Clayton Kids for Cash” scheme — an alleged, systemic corruption network operating inside the St. Louis County Family Court.
What’s Alleged?
• Grant accuses judges, commissioners, guardians ad litem (GALs), attorneys, and even relatives of participating in an organized criminal enterprise that manipulates family court outcomes for financial and political benefit — invoking RICO, Civil Rights, and other statutes.
• He claims retaliation after publicly denouncing corruption: from 15 nights a month in custody with his teenage sons, Grant alleges his access was slashed to one overnight per week, with further cuts looming.
• The complaint claims a recorded conversation where GAL John Fenley allegedly offered to restore custody if Grant retracted his corruption allegations. Upon refusal, custody was further restricted.
• Grant contends that fraudulent pleadings, fabricated court orders, and perjury were used to strip away his rights, penalizing him for refusal to concede to unfair demands.
• He alleges the scheme intentionally uses children as leverage—forcing parents into financially draining settlements or unjust arrangements, prioritizing legal fees over fairness.
Structural Corruption
According to Grant’s filing, the network is entrenched and protected by political connections, ensuring impunity for its members. He promises documentary evidence—texts, recordings, transcripts—as proof.
• Grant emphasizes this isn’t a personal custody battle—it’s a class action aimed at dismantling what he calls “organized criminal enterprise under color of law.”
Broader Significance
• Grant regards his filing as the first salvo in a broader reform fight, noting the courthouse has “already failed for years” and must be rebuilt on a foundation of fairness and justice.
When family courts break trust, RICO should be the scalpel that cuts out the rot.
